Everyone’s career and skills journey will look different, with people developing their skills to match their role and career plans. It’s always good to develop new skills, to help you deliver great quality care, be ready for that next career opportunity and to develop yourself.
While your learning journey should be tailored to your individual needs, there will be a degree of alignment with nationally recognized care workforce pathway for adult social care. Alongside the core skills that you will develop at each stage of your career, you will also be looking to develop specific skills relating to the part of adult social that you work within. This could include for example training on dementia, autism, learning disabilities, mental health or end of life care.

Undertaking an apprenticeship can help you develop your existing skills but also attain the right skills and qualifications to progress onto a new role.
